What's your favourite part about your job?

Huh, I'm pleasantly surprised to hear that covid hasn't affected your treatment much.

I work in a cancer treatment centre (in the UK) as a trainee in radiotherapy physics. Someone much higher up decided that staff have to work from home whenever possible and patient treatment was initially restricted to more critical cases only (although I think they're starting to open services back up now).

I'm slightly dreading it in a few months time when everything is fully open again and we have a huge amount of patients with further stages of cancer that probably could've been prevented or managed if we started working on them earlier.

I find it slightly odd reading someone criticise doctors who try to push a certain specialty, and then immediately follow that up with trying to push another certain specialty.

When you say "creating narrative about a change" what exactly do you mean by that?

Is it just how you would explain why you're interested in this new field, and how your existing skills can be transferred?

Depending on what you're interested in, even an associates may be a total waste of time.

What would the degree be in?

Are you after a general education, or something that leads into an "obvious" career path? - by which I mean, would you be happy doing a rather general science/arts/language/humanities major and figuring it out later, or would you want to do an engineering/teaching/whatever program with the intention of becoming an engineer/teacher/whatever?
