Hi Hamilton. I am a longtime viewer and I love watching all of your stuff. I heard you had some interest in kratom and I am a long-time Kratom user. Have you tried it ? And how do you feel about the government trying to ban it?

It boggles my mind how the government wants to ban kratom yet they'll still sell acenomeophen(spelling), dxm, and alcohol over the counter. I know dxm and alcohol are totally different, but I would say that they are more dangerous to memory, motor skills, and liver (https://www.drugs.com/cdi/acetaminophen-dextromethorphan-syrup.html). I wish they would make kratom available to people 21+ or at least make it available through prescription.
Would you ever consider using kratom as your area of research in one of your shows?
You could travel to Indonesia or Thailand, and do some research on their governments history with it. Chew on some raw kratom leaves, and vape it. I still have no idea how a plant that got banned out there is still transported in large amounts and provided almost everywhere in the US. Some how they're still farming it and I'm sure kratom sells in the recent years has boosted their economy. I can give you some direct contacts to farmers if interested.
It would also be neat to see the comparison between kratom and other opioids like suboxone, methadone, or tramadol, which all have more damaging effects than kratom (info collected from personal experiences in r/kratom). Because of the possible ban, kratom has gain more attention and more people are discovering that they could use this plant in replacement of more addictive drugs (http://www.naturalnews.com/035480_kratom_pain_relief_herb.html). In fact, kratom has saved many people from their dependencies on more dangerous opiates and opioids https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3670991/.
There needs to be more research on this plant to show its benefits before it is banned,(https://www.statnews.com/2016/09/08/kratom-ban-hinders-research/)and a good documentary might change the minds of the people responsible for processing the ban.
The comment period ended 3 days ago, and now everyone over at r/kratom are waiting for the results. More information and people's responses can be found over here https://www.reddit.com/r/kratom/comments/5g5gdv/aka_the_comment_period_is_over_what_happens_next/
Sorry for the wall of text, I've been taking this plant for almost 4 years now and it has changed my life for the best. I have so much love for this plant and it had led me to learn more about other nootropics (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nootropic) Kratom has helped me get clean off opiate addiction (2 years ago), and I only take it in replacement of tylenol now.
Thanks for reading, and hope you're having a nice day Hamilton.
