"It solves a different problem" isn't the same as "I wouldn't be comfortable with it on my computer". Which was it?

Why would anyone hate someone else because of their values or because they're "free"? That "they hate our freedom" meme never made any sense to me: how can someone hear it and think "yeah, that makes sense to me"?
