Being the bad guy is relative, but in my opinion, probably every time in some way since ww2. Ends justifying means has been our go-to rationale and will always be. Non-american lives do not matter, nor do non-American assets (although every asset can potentially become a US asset).

Will we be able to see this object clearly anytime assuming we get some of the giant, parallax, or space telescopes up and running as they're scheduled?

I think the obvious answer is that there's always a chance, but since it has never been the case before and there's nothing to suggest it's unusual besides its shape, there's really no reason to humor the possibility. A spaceship can be any ship. Why not entertain the possibility that every celestial object is a potential spaceship?
