Since you have such a large collection, have you thought about supplying samples from different breeds, morphs, and species for genome sequencing? In 50 or 100 years, the animals we have now may not exist. And sequencing may give insight into ways to better breed them.

On my resume I list "Big Data" since I've done work with Genomics data sets and experimental results analysis. Does that count?

You can't just store the data in RAM? My bioinformatics server uses 256GB of it, is that not enough for other fields?

How do you learn what "good code" vs. "bad code" is? I use R but don't have much formal programming methodology training, I'm learning as I go. Seems like every week I find a better way to do the same tasks. I wrote a code sample to send with my resume to potential employers but I'm afraid of it having methodology errors that make sense to me but make me look like a bad programmer to everyone else.
