Why do you guys like Rust, beside the fact that one of your employees started it?

That's more the kind of answer that I was looking for, thanks.

Hello, Mr. Hayter.

First, the Metal Gear games and your part in them are awesome. But you already know that.

  • Can you provide any details about the "creative differences" that caused you to depart from the Watchmen movie? I'm sure there are reasons you can't lay it all out, but I was wondering if you would describe in general or in the abstract what kind of things Universal didn't like about what you had in mind or what you didn't like about what they had in mind that caused you to leave.

  • Also, you seem to still be co-credited as the writer. Do you think you deserve that or is that just a formality? I guess what I am asking is if you are happy about the way the movie turned out and if it is close enough to the work you had done on it to feel like they didn't just stomp all over it. Did they preserve enough of what you put in your script to satisfy you with the results?

  • And about the modern setting, was that your idea or was that a direction you got from executives or somebody like that? I'm glad there is a version that kept the Cold War setting of the graphic novel, but I think a modern setting could also be very interesting.
