Still python. Just to put it in perspective, you can get a cs degree from MIT only knowing how to code in python. It's an intuitive language that's also pretty ubiquitous.

It's definitely different in the states. Python is used everywhere. If you're going to learn one language, it should be python. All other languages are pretty industry specific. Not everyone is a web developer.

I'm an MIT student too and I heard it from a course 6. I'm sure they meant it was possible in theory due to loopholes. That being said I'm 15-2 and I didn't mean to seem like some cs authority. The person was just asking what language to learn that would be practical and marketable. I stand by my advice.
