Having a conversation about law with truck drivers sounds like a dead end. I know that some a clever and some appreciate other people's knowledge, but there exists an enormous group think in the trucker community that some defend with teeth and claws. If they have just repeated a lie enough times they will be certain that they are right. This holds for a lot of communities, not just truckers, and I know it's a generalization - but still.

The Swedish Pirate Party already have two seats in the European Parliament. They work and vote together with the green group, which among other things have adopted the pirates' stance on copyright verbatim. It's better for the pirates to be in the same group than to split up into different ones so chances are pretty big that any pirate party will join the green group!

Wouldn't it be better for viewers if they just delayed the broadcast by, say, 5-10 minutes? So that the broadcast lags somewhat behind. That way fact checking gets a head start and they can provide feedback to viewers in close proximity to where the fact appears in the speech.
