32-38 and A-DDD is a small fraction of bra sizes. Why do you think most women won't fit? Even a 38DDD is a very small proportion.

The cups are always too small on the models, and it perpetuates the belief that overflowing cups are the norm, and even the ideal... so no wonder people don't question the sizing.

I know OP has said here that she would recommend a specialty boutique to someone... but I have never seen that happen, and I don't imagine it ever happening. Especially if 99% of fitters in these stores don't know what's going on anyway. So yes, I still imagine they will try to put you in a bra no matter what.
