What do you think of today's society, concerning technology? Is it good for us to be able to automate so many tasks, meaning we need not wear out or bodies or minds?

Do these studies consider that less IBS problems means better nutrition overall, and probably better sleep, less pain etc? Anecdotally, when my IBS is better, many of my autistic traits get better simply because I have the mental energy to handle myself better.

There is evidence that some traits in an autistic person gets better (=more neurotypical) with certain dietary changes. I've seen articles, but can't link them.

The issues that get better are often such that would improve for anyone with a poor diet, though, so personally I think it might as well be that good food gives better overall health which makes it easier to cope with stress, angst and depression.

There is often a correlation between the number of strains of bacteria in the bowels and autism: people on the spectrum tend to have fewer and different strains than a neurotypical person. But we don't know if autism causes different bacteria (due to limited diet) or if these bacteria somehow affects the brain.

I am not an MD, but I have AS so I've read a bit about these things.
