Hi Cory,
unfortunately I have nothing to contribute to the protest, but: thanks for your books, I really enjoyed Little Brother & will read For The Win as soon as I find some time. :)

Do some of you hold a PhD by any chance?
I'm currently working part-time as research assistant at my school's systems security department (you've heard of their work) where I could probably begin a PhD. I'm also currently interviewing for security engineering positions (I have a background in software / CS) at a few companies.
When would it make sense in your opinion to go to grad school? What options would I have should I get a PhD which I wouldn't have otherwise?
I'm pretty torn between going into the industry and academia currently. :( Working on actual products sounds quite nice but if I'm totally honest with myself, I don't care about finding buffer overflows in developers' code or designing secure APIs, I'm much more interested in researching new mitigations and techniques. Going into school, I was pretty sure I would become an engineer (I'm definitely not a technician / support / operations guy), now I'm not sure anymore whether that's still what I want to do and research sounds much more appealing. :(
Any thoughts?
Thanks, see you at BSides LV or DEF CON! :)

Just a curious & ignorant European here: How does this support your vets?

Maybe a bit late but: What's your opinion about more restrictive gun control? Did it change with this incident?
Oh, btw: there's very little coverage about it in the german news, thanks for the AMA with some interesting insights.

it's not without oxygen, it's unpressurized - and in heights like 10km / 30k ft, you'll pass out pretty fast. According to my ground school instructor, it's ~30-60 seconds. Glad you got out without any serious harm.
