You could create an organizational structure where a teacher makes an account and then can provision student accounts. They would have access to read and oversee all student communications before they are sent or received. You could ensure that it's only for schools by requiring a ".edu" email for teacher accounts. I'm sure there are other sites that have other ways to ensure it's for education only so there are probably other ideas out there.

Unless anything has changed in the last few years, there's not too much besides the planes to look at. The IMAX movies are usually pretty cool though.

I would think parents and administrators would like there to be some oversight especially if the pen pals are children. Kind of like how the school can open your locker whenever they want. You could get fancy and prevent curse words and certain words from even being typed. That may resolve the issue. Just my opinion though.
