I'm in the UK here, but from what I see the USA seems to have a culture, not just in medicine, of blaming other people for things that are either complete accidents, or that could have been prevented by some common sense of the person making the claim.

The UK is, sadly, becoming more and more like this all the time.

From what you said about getting nothing for stolen goods, couldn't the family have just gone to the police and recovered the item that way? Surely the owner would rather get $300 back than next to nothing from the police?

I got hold of one of these in the UK and it's the best router I've owned (despite LOVING Airport routers). I love how it does EVERYTHING!

If you managed to get through what were you instructed to do? Presumably not take out the knife/bomb and wave it around, maniacally laughing!
