Adding a profit incentive to the justice system, paid BY THE HEAD, is a very bad idea.

Don't judge me!

I fear that the militarization of the police forces, the incentive of seizure laws, and the change in attitude towards "us vs them" has resulted in an environment where cops treat everywhere like a war zone, and are inching towards private assets (property, equipment, etc) to be tools to commandeer for the achievement of their "mission".

This particular case is egregious, but I fear not the only one we will see. IN an expansion of this question, how can we engage sufficient penalties on cops who blatantly disregard/violate constitutional rights to prevent this direction?

Given the out of control militarization (and apparent contempt for Constitutional rights) demonstrated by numerous police agencies, as well as the recent Nevada story:

will the ACLU start pushing back early against 3rd amendment encroachment before these stories become more common?
