Pain happens in the brain, and you can feel real, debilitating pain without any physical changes. I think providers get frustrated when a patient presents with a recurring complaint, but is normal upon examination.

My dad had a PFO that was discovered post stroke. He had it repaired and stopped having migraine headaches. His theory was that small bloodclots from the PFO were causing his headaches. Is there any evidence to support that?
