I've been trying to use my musical abilities to create a career for two decades. I've passed up opportunities for financial freedom, a family, love, security, adventure, all in the name of pursuing my passion for music. My question is....Why does the universe mock me?

Percussion technician and instructor here. Yes, I still use square notes to notate 8 full counts in 4/4 time (aka, two whole notes that would otherwise be tied together across a measure line) when I'm feeling lazy.

Yes, my students make fun of me for doing so.
