A species is often defined as a group of organisms capable of interbreeding and producing fertile offspring. Scientists now believe an olinguito was exhibited in several zoos in the US between 1967 and 1976. Its keepers mistook it for an olinga - a close relative - and could not understand why it would not breed. It was sent to a number of different zoos but died without being properly identified.

The BBC article says:

"But there is no central museum database and scientists have little idea of what each collection contains."

Thanks for taking time to answer questions.

The paradox of voting, also called Downs paradox, is that for a rational, self-interested voter, the costs of voting (educating oneself on a all relevant political issues) will normally exceed the expected benefits. Because the chance of exercising the pivotal vote (i.e., in an otherwise tied election) is astronomically minuscule compared to any realistic estimate of the private individual benefits of the different possible outcomes, the expected benefits of voting are less than the costs. Should I vote?
