What has the response (if any) from the VA been on your statement RE: the therapeutic contradiction of lifelong PTSD?

It's clearly a tricky issue but it's frequently something clinicians come up against - in therapy, Veterans want to get better, but they also don't want to lose their disability rating... so sometimes they work the system, which isn't necessarily to anyone's benefit.

There are also issues with how PTSD is rated in the VA, what measures are used, who's rating the Veteran... in many cases PTSD symptoms may not actually improve in treatment but quality of life and functioning do improve, which is another issue .
