Hi! I'm a sociologist of religion interested in ethnobotany and plant folklore, especially that related to visionary shamanic journeying (ie, use of intoxicating plants and fungi). In the non-academic literature on this topic, one often hears claims about ancient art providing proof of such cults and practices. I have heard little from Africa, though. Have you ever come across art that may indicate a relationship with sacred plants or fungi?
