Is there any reliable way to stop a search of your vehicle because an officer "smells marijuana"?
I don't smoke personally, but ask because I feel like this is something any officer could say to gain access to searching your car, and it seems like bullshit to me.

I've been pulled over for "drifting across a lane" and then asked if I was smuggling guns, drugs or knives.
Knives? Why would you need to smuggle knives?
Regardless, I didn't like the baseless stop.
If an officer says they smell something can I tell them that's not basis to search? Do I lock the door and ask to see a warrant?
What happens next if they do use the magic phrase?
