What protections do we have from being ID'd on reddit? Assuming we want to remain anonymous, and don't do stupid things like post our personal information there. What techniques are used to do such a thing (in general terms).

That's good because I offered someone $1000 bucks on reddit if they could identify me....few weeks later the cops came to my address (for noisy but I WASN'T being noisy, and he admitted that, but would not tell me who complained...12 amendment?). This part of life (flesh) is tricky because of others I think.
