But any ultrasound should have also picked this up. I'm confused.

I'm really interested in becoming a nurse for a correctional facility, but boyfriend/mother/sister are pretty much horrified at the prospect. I'm under the impression that inmates generally treat healthcare workers with respect, but they're afraid that as a cute girl with a bit of a body, I'll be pretty seriously harassed and possibly be put in danger. What's your take?

See, and that could have been easily avoided. Plus, their response afterwards was all wrong. If you had called them out and their response was, "you're right, it was totally unprofessional. I'm really sorry," I'm guessing that you would feel differently about the situation. It would still suck, but at least you wouldn't also feel like they were insulting your intelligence.

For what it's worth, I'm really sorry that happened. Did you report it? If you haven't, I encourage you to do so. As a female vet, you're already facing enough hardships. You don't need to feel like you can't get medical care on top of it.

Ugh. I'm sorry.

It's actually super shady because with stories this specific, I could easily identify someone if I knew their story. In this line of work, it's especially risky because if I realize this nurse is talking about me and essentially telling my story for the amusement of others, I would probably never trust another medical professional.

When I worked in a psych hospital, I needed to vent, so I would talk to people I knew could have zero possible connection, usually only my mother or boyfriend. But in this case, it's not venting - it's for karma points. It feels like it's taking advantage of patients in their most vulnerable states. Some people say it can be filed under educational purposes, but this isn't an educational setting and no one here has been taught HIPAA laws, so I don't buy that.
