Similarly, what sort of liability did you accept when you bought it? I'm thinking of any potential environmental hazards left from the mining company, or the structures deteriorating, leeching lead or oil or asbestos or whatever. And liability to people driving through, coming to visit, etc.

I never thought about culturing rhino horns in a lab. Do you think that would reduce poaching, or would it be like diamonds, where the lab-grown ones are less valuable and there's still a high demand for the natural kind? And also wouldn't producing lab-grown rhino horns imply that there's actually some medicinal value to them?

Have you talked to an attorney? I had a ahem friend in college who got caught with weed (in Oklahoma, before it was legal there). No paraphernalia, thankfully. But my friend hired an attorney who got the sentence deferred for 6 months, iirc, and then the charge was expunged. I'm not sure how well it would work 4 years later, but in a weed friendly state like CO I definitely think it's worth a phone call or two. Good luck!

In what way could cultured meat/milk possibly be more environmentally friendly than plant-based food? The only way I can think of is if you're feeding it waste products. What ARE you feeding it?
