I despise the Tories as much as the next guy (and as someone who's going to be a doctor my hatred is particularly strong at the moment) but this comment:
Also, about 24% of the electorate voted for the tories
is pretty useless, if you don't vote then tough luck when the government do something you don't like, you had your chance and you blew it for the next 5 years.
Let's also stop saying the conservatives only got 36% of the vote without mentioning that this was quite a bit more than any other party got, they do have a legitimate election victory, it wasn't fixed in any way so let's stop pretending it wasn't.
There are many many valid and intelligent reasons to hate them but these two arguments are not among them.

Even way back then, deep racism wasn't something that was completely common and accepted anywhere outside the Deep South
That's being pretty revisionist, the civil rights act wasn't signed until 1964.

Not Irish (next country over in the UK) and we have our own microbrews (there's a lot of them in London), and it really depends where you go if they'll have a lot of them or not. Traditional pubs and brewery pubs won't (or maybe one) while newer pubs and anything in Shoreditch or Soho will serve them exclusively. Presumably it's fairly similar in Ireland.
Edit: did some googling, apparently microbrews started off in the UK, spread to Europe and then to America. Or is the "American-style" bit mean something weird Americans do to their microbrews?

Why is the northern line so slow?
