What languages can you speak? Also, how do you plan communicating with people who do not speak your language?

I was thinking of traveling cross country US and I thought a battery pack using AA batteries would be the best for traveling but I don't think it has the oomph to charge an iPad. The reason I thought these would be better is because I felt that I can get AA batteries from anywhere and while I'm on the road I can be charging in case. I'm not sure if you've considered it.
