Hi! Leukemia survivor here. I was lucky enough to never need a bone marrow donation, but I appreciate that the option was there thanks to people like you.

How do they get the bone marrow out? Is it basically a bone marrow biopsy? I had lots of those and they really aren't that bad, but people talk up bone marrow donation like it's something scary.

I'm trying to start recovering from cancer, and I'm also incredibly weak. Any advice? I can stand up from a chair with significant effort and the use of my arms and upper body. Standing upright for longer than about 15 minutes causes nausea, shortness of breath, and dizziness even on a good day. 21F.

I have seen your capybara photos/videos around the internet, they are delightful!

  1. From videos/photos I've seen online, capybaras seem impressively even tempered. Was there anything that would make yours agitated or angry?

  2. Are they affectionate?

Yikes that sounds worse than the bone marrow biopsies I had, though maybe just because you needed many holes and I only needed one.

Leukemia usually shows up in toddlers and old people who have much weaker bones than me, a college student, so my doctors would also complain about how strong my bones were.
