If you lose a Battlestar in battle, is it gone for good, or does it end up in the shipyard?

You mentioned some interesting political elements with how things work with keeping the colonies happy. I know in the show they tried to comment on current events of the time. With your story is there an overall message you want to tell players, or was your goal more geared toward look and feel?
