I can attest to their customer service chops.

Oddly, I've never rented a lens from them, but I did buy two.

One of them failed while I was away overseas. The autofocus motor just wouldn't focus forward once it hit minimum distance. Fortunately, I could work around that easily enough. Unfortunately, I was about 15 days outside the warranty on their used gear.

I emailed their customer service address, and got a response from Roger (I have to admit, I thought that was pretty cool). He said they'd fix it free if they could do it in house, but would pass the cost on to me if it had to go to Canon. I was OK with this and sent it in a couple weeks later when I was back in the States.

I bit later, I received the lens back with an invoice from Canon included in the box ($135 was a lot less than I thought it would cost to replace the AF motor on a 16-35mm f2.8L II). No big deal.

I called Canon to settle up, but they wouldn't let me pay because I wasn't on the CPS account the lens was registered to. Weird.

I emailed LensRentals again to get the lens unregistered from their account so I could pay for the repairs. They emailed me back and said they'd taken the lens off their account, but also paid the balance and I owed nothing. Very unexpected.

TL; DR: When I ordered a lens I requested that they draw a dragon in the box and they come through with style.

If you're in the US, you'll be disappointed.

If only there were some podcast network to help him produce such a show...
