Hi guys! Is it true that you and Hey Ocean! chose your names together to fit and form a sentence? As in, "'Hey ocean!' said the whale"? Or is that just a fanciful bit of Vancouver band lore?

Been a big fan of yours since the Folk Fest in 2009! A few questions for you to pick and choose from:

• There seems to have been a marked change in the trajectory of your work, from focussing primarily the more introspective and personal in your early stuff to a much more externally-oriented political focus on Club Meds. Is this just a stylistic choice, or just done for a change of pace? Or does it reflect a change in your attitude as to how you approach your art?

• Are there any Canadian music artists (excluding your own band, of course) that you think are doing particularly interesting work right now?

• You can have dinner with either Queen Elizabeth, Leonard Cohen, or your favourite teacher from high school. Who do you pick, and what do you talk about?

• Which subreddits do you lurk in?
