As someone who has invested so much time in to the study of world religions what leads you to identify with a specific one? I'm not trying to suggest that you're asserting "fact" in doing so, but merely curious as to how you came to choose Islam as your personal belief system -- why not some combination of all the different belief systems you've seen? What about it struck you as most desirable?

Seriously. Mr. Mild-mannered professional is far more likely to accidentally hurt himself or loved ones with a crossbow.

I'm concerned you think that has any connection whatsoever with your ability to, or familiarity with, taking a potentially lethal action in a moment when you may perceive your life is in danger.

I've shot all kinds of guns and been in plenty of fights, and there's absolutely nothing about any of those experiences that make me think bringing a weapon in to my home without serious training is a net gain in safety.

I hope you appreciate I'm only saying this out of concern you might inadvertently regret something for the rest of your life and not that I want you to feel bad/small/wrong
