For the love of all that is holy, please. If the devs actually had to use their own app they'd realize how fucking awful it really is

at only 5 deaths, I'd say that's pretty low, I wouldn't be surprised if six flags or other parks have similar numbers despite being considered 'safe'

the goal was to experience something risky and dangerous, as someone whos been a few times, it's not like everything was a walking death trap. if enjoyed responsibly, most rides were perfectly fine. although the loop water slide, ha, maybe not that one

I may be reading this incorrectly, but i think you want it as an access point which is different from an extender. Here is what you need to do: P = provider modem/router, L = your linksys.

in this scenario we are going to let your P be the main router/modem, L will simply be your wireless access to your network

For ease of setup, it's best you find an ethernet cable to connect to each router while setting it up.

Also, get a little piece of paper and write down IP values and passwords to tape to device so you can reference them later

  • log into P and turn off wifi broadcast

  • while logged into P, take note of the IP range or start address. 90% of the time it's something like 192.168.1.2 or something (192.168.1.1 is likely the routers address). Sometimes routers have number of users, in which case your range would be 192.168.1.2 + # (so if # = 50, last address would be 192.168.1.52)

  • log into L and turn off DHCP Server. Not DHCP in your internet connection type (drop down will have options like PPPoE and static IP) but somewhere below that it should be an enable/disable option. Save

  • now while in L, lets give it a new IP address that is OUTSIDE your range of P so there wont be conflicts. For instance let's give it 192.168.1.99. The setting is likely going to be near subnet mask and device name. It's simply the devices IP address. Write this down on your small piece of paper because now in order to get to your router page you need to go to this new address

  • Now, we just need to connect P to L. Take an ethernet cord and connect any LAN port (1-4) from P to any LAN port (1-4) on L. DO NOT connect P to WAN port (usually a different color, or referred to as internet port) on L, it goes in the regular port slots. L should not have anything connected to the WAN port

that should do it! now when your on your L wifi, all devices that are connected to P's LAN ports will be able to see all L's wifi devices and you've just set up a wifi access point.

Few other very basic tips: * always change your router's IP address from the stock out of the box address. the easiest thing in the world to try is 192.168.0/1.1

  • turn off broadcasting your SSID

  • do not allow wifi access to your admin page, this will limit anything wifi from admin your system and require you plug into the device with ethernet

  • write this crap down on a piece of paper and tape it to your router so you can remember in future months

  • spend a little more on routers, we rely on them daily and it's a complete PITA when they suck, spend a little more money and get something worth a damn
