I know I'm late (these AMA's always happen when I'm at work). A lot of these top questions seem to be about combating the symptoms of homelessness (bathrooms for the homeless, parking lots, housing, etc.).
What are the root causes of California (or LA more specifically) having a higher homeless per capita when compared to other state's (or LA compared to other major cities)?
And what has California (or LA more specifically) done to combat these causes?

While it's true that LA has a high cost of living and a crazy expensive housing market, one person does not need a 900 sq ft apartment. A 600 sq ft apartment is big enough for one person. And those will run you between $1,300 -- $1,700 (expensive area).
Source: I live in LA. And you can plug 600 sq ft apartments into Zillow or Apartments.com to see what the prices are.

Wow that story sounds like it would make a great movie! I saw this thing that said you only started shooting 5 years before your olympic win which sounds pretty incredible. I always thought all olympians were training since they were toddlers.
So I guess my question is, how often is it that olympians don't start training until their teens?

This seems completely fine and yet there is such a stigma about it. I guess the upper class did a great job in convincing everyone that socialism is inherently bad.

If this is common, what's the reason for this kind of schedule?
