It wouldn't be reddit if the top comment thread wasn't arguing over semantics.

Who cares if he says "I legalized"? The fact is he clearly put a ton of work into making it happen while the rest of the population sits back, making idle comments in their daily lives and acting like they're actually relevant to the political atmosphere. This guy is actually out there, meeting with politicians and working for issues he cares about. Reddit is so full of lazy bastards who complain about the way things are but don't do anything about it.

This is precisely why democracy/bureaucracy works so poorly. Little unimportant people get caught up on little unimportant details and then nothing gets done.

It's the reality of the internet. You can't say "hey, there's a way to have a brand new album in 30 seconds and you don't have to pay a penny," and hope they reply "no thanks I'd rather drive to the store and pay $14." It's the reality of new technology and the simple fact that 3-4 minutes of audio is really easy to transmit between computers. Pirated music is just a symptom of the times, record companies can only beat it by offering superior alternatives. They need to recognize that their era of dominance is over, you simply can't get back to that, you need to adapt and grow or you'll just be a relic of the 20th century.

The world always has its problems but we are better off in this day and age than at any point in the whole of human history. We are hardly fucked. We have faced so much worse and weathered it. World poverty and hunger hit an all time low in 2012. Standard of living across the world is higher than ever. The most dangerous countries in the world (Iran, North Korea) are largely impotent, lacking the military size or sophistication of those who would fight against them. Regarding your specific complaints:

Nothing at all about climate change? So the last half decade of business cleaning up, hybrid cars growing in popularity, normal citizens going "green" was nothing at all? I know it's not huge but people are vastly more aware of their effect on the environment than, say, 10 years ago.

Separate justice system for elites? Hate to break it to you, but it's always been that way. You're just more aware of it now because of how widespread and penetrating our media is now. I mean, the fact that the average citizen can actually learn about the inner dealings of society's upper echelons is actually amazing.

How has the War on Drugs shown no signs of stopping when marijuana is getting decriminalized across the country and even legalized in some states? Most of South America is also pushing for drug reform.

The world ain't so bad. ~50 years ago we still had segregation in America. Up until the 90's we had the constant threat of nuclear apocalypse. In truth, I actually can't believe how hopeless some people are. Things have gotten so vastly better in the last few decades it's not even funny.
