how have you gone about setting up/finding fixers you feel comfortable with? and what would you say video packages bring to life for war reporting that print can't (apart from like...proof!)

Thanks for the answer, that makes a lot of sense. I've got another from a journo friend not on Reddit who's in radio and hoping to move into reporting abroad. You mentioned the grim outlook for our industry, but are there any legacy outlets you see still investing in foreign coverage/freelancers — or alternatively, is there any hope for new digital projects funding these sorts of things? Seems like the nonprofit (or blockchain??) model would be tough to make work, are there avenues outside Center on Crisis grants etc?
