Admittedly I'm not very familiar with Effective Altruism and perhaps you've addressed this somewhere and I can be pointed in the right direction.
Can you speak to (or have you previously) the impact an individual's actions have vs. that of large corporations and industries, and the idea that one's time and money would be better spent dismantling these large producers of inequality vs. donating excess income?
Edit: just to expand a bit, the cynic in me immediately wonders what good individuals can do when collectively it seems the problem generating these wealth inequalities and terrible living standards in many areas of the world are caused by 1% or less of the population.
