Yeah that's a good point. Didn't look at it from that angle. But here's the next point: human free will.

Don't confuse the general suffering of humanity with one accident instance. If someone wants to sky dive, they're gonna do it, and if they get hurt, it's their own fault. We have free will and reasoning, and someone who's reached the third level of cognitive thinking knows that blaming anyone else for your own actions is immature. Like 5 year old immature.

I'm doubtless this guy appreciates the medics, nurses, and doctors that worked on him and are taking care of him. I'm doubtless he's grateful of the advances in modern science.

The base fact of the matter is he's grateful for the gift of life and he's expressing that. Why not let him do it how he wants?
