Fuck why does this story pop up enough that I can't forget about it. Fucking hell man.

The dad on the show seemed like a straight out amazing dude. I really enjoyed the fact that he insisted am argument be completed and worked out before everyone leaves. Was that all just editing magic or was he really like that?

And on top of that the moon landing was a perfect storm that could almost never be replicated again which involved the best engineers in the world, the right funding and a doable time table. This project has none of these. We would have trouble doing a manned mission to the moon now let alone a mission to Mars.

A great book detailing all of this is Apollo by Charles Murray. Its written mostly from the perspective of the engineers at NASA during the Apollo missions from interviews Murray did with the engineers. Really well written book.

They be fucking stupid. Seriously just need to listen to All Day to know that's complete bullshit.
