What did you think of "Rescue Me"?
EDIT - I ask because most cops I know LOVED how "Homicide: Life on the Street" depicted their jobs.

Funny, my wife says the same about me - I tend to be hard on myself at times but it's good to know there's always upside to push towards. I saw you post a few book suggestions in another reply so I'll have to check them out sometime soon.
Thanks, Drew. Keep on keepin' on.

Aside from the 9/11 implications, I was more concerned with the day-to-day interactions and overall comeraderie along with day-to-day operations.
Obviously the drama is just there for drama.

Hey JOY! Congrats on Slack Tide!
I have a few random questions for you, but hopefully you can provide as much or as little insight as possible:
1 - You perform a lot of covers (on YouTube) at least - what's your favorite song to cover? Likewise, what's your favorite cover song that someone else has adapted (from you or any other artist)?
2 - Is there another instrument you'd like to learn to play?
3 - Outside of music, what occupies your time?
4 - If you could open for anyone, who would it be?
5 - If you could have anyone open for YOU, who would it be?
EDIT - 6 - Can you please explain BUFFY to me? I've tried plowing through the show, and I just can't get into it, yet my compatriot /u/noiseslikewhales along with every other Joss fankid says "OMG THIS SHOW IS AMAAAAZING". I feel like the kid left out of an inside joke here.
PS - Please come to Philly.

Dear Drew,
I just wanted to say, thanks for being awesome. I say this because as a kid growing up, your standup and the Drew Carey Show helped keep me the optimistic yet cynical dude I ended up being today. One of the best moments of my younger life was taking the tour at the WB lot and begging the tour guide to visit your set. Having seen you embrace the helm at TPIR, I also appreciate how you come off more as a "keeper of the flame", so to speak, and handle the role with a lot of grace and humbleness.
I also wanted to say that the journey with your health has really gotten me to start reconsidering my own. I also used to be the guy who was proud to enjoy his cheeseburgers and beer, and I often sited you as the "Hey, he's perfectly happy, look at this guy!" persona, but after seeing what you've done with yourself in recent years, it's kind of inspired me to get off my butt and do something about my own health in the same "Hey, he did something about it. I guess I can do it too" kind of way.
All in all, I guess my question is what inspires you to be the happy and awesome dude you are? What do you consider to be the best bullet points to live by?
PS - Thanks for teaching us all to never let us get ourselves down.
