There was an episode of Destination Truth that took place in Zanzibar about a man-sized bat called the Popobawa that attacks people. Those attacked are encouraged to tell others about the attack because if they don't they will be attacked more in the future. What is interesting is that the reports of attacks by the Popobawa rise and fall with the election cycle and the first reports of it began shortly after a political revolution that occurred in 1965. Very interesting.
