Does yours pace as well? I know OP said his does not but my son's does both and I was just curious to hear another person besides him say what it feels like when it paces. He said it makes it feel like your heart is physically rising in your chest. He's only felt it once outside of the doctor's office but he hasn't felt the full shock because by the time pacing him wasn't working and he needed the shock he was passed out.

That makes sense, thanks for answering!

That's kind of what made me curious about it being mentioned what the shock would feel like because they always have told us he would be passed out by the time the shock happened so he wouldn't feel it anyway so they never have mentioned what kind of force it would have.

Did you get your pacemaker and ICD at the same time or separate instances? Will you ever get one that is both?

You mentioned that your ICD shocks but does not pace. How was the type of ICD you received chosen?

For others in the thread, I've seen several people mention they also have an ICD. If you are okay with sharing, what was the cause for you to get one? I don't have one but my son does and he always wants to hear why other people have one.

That does, thank you!
