Ego kills for sure. Hang glider pilot here and the rush that some people have to move up to high performance wings when they barely land beginner stuff is amazing.

Or worse, they fail to build the skills and can't reconcile that with their mistake in buying equipment... so they quit the sport. I'd actually rather see more people bite the bullet and train more!

Thank you! It was a ton of fun. I should have said it was my first 'official' hour, really. I fly hang gliders already, and I found everything up to the landing very easy! You should try it.
