MARITIME LAW!

This is one of the most fascinating AMA's I've read. Thank you for your time. My question is: Is it dangerous inside the windmill? Are all of the working parts of the machine exposed? Thanks again!

Thank you for doing this. An older friend of mine was visiting her sister at a nursing home. Her and her sister were both sitting outside in lawn chairs provided by the facility. A vehicle driven by a third party pulled into the parking and, instead of braking, accelerated into my friend and her sister. My friend suffered a broken leg and some damage to both feet, and some bumps and bruises. Her sister was bruised up pretty bad. This was two years ago. My friend has had surgery and physical therapy, but her leg isnt healing like it should. It remains crazy-swollen and my friend is in pain everyday of her life. Before this she was very active in the community. They have not settled with the insurance company yet. I am not privy to the medical bills, which I assume the drivers insurer will cover. My question is in a case such as this does the insurance company take into account the change in the victims quality of life (indefinite pain, missed vacations with family, unable to walk without a cane/walker/wheelchair, future depression, permanent disability, etc), possibly for the rest of her life, when considering a settlement?
