Exactly. They're not just blindly believing this stuff. A lot of them are actively trying to prove their ideas. They're doing research and getting their beliefs backed up. They're fucking morons and aren't doing it properly but they are without a doubt thinking about established ideas that most people just blindly believe.

I mean how many people have actually read a study about the effectiveness of vaccines? Probably very few, but they trust them anyway. That's the thing though society thrives on specialization. If everybody had to learn everything we would get very little done.

We need some people doing what the flat earthers and anti-vaxx are doing, but these groups specifically just suck at it. If we didn't have groups like this (but full of people who aren't idiots) we would still think the world was flat and the center of the universe. We would still think a flying machine was impossible. We would never have learned about preserving meats and think maggots came about spontaneously.

The main problem imo is while flat earthers are mostly harmless but the anti-vaxx people are straight up dangerous.

Since this reply is already tech like, how do you extract the color palette from the image? I've always wondered what that code looks like.

Edit, I misread the text on that part of your page. You let people.define their own colors. That makes more sense for this use case but I'm still curious how things like Photoshop do it.

I didn't know that. That makes a lot of sense. Thank you.

I'll look into pywal. I looked at some in the past like schemer2 (which is one of pywal's backends it looks like) which involved randomness and didn't produce consistent results. Others were much slower than Photoshop seems to be.

Thanks for this.
