The current political parties are never splitting the difference. It's resulted in things such as a government shutdown, congressional deadlock, and wasted taxpayer money.

Are they effectively applying your methods? If so, how can you persuade people who are following your methods to stop following them?

Well I didn't want to go into the details and point fingers at either party or any person, I was hoping to find out how to prevent people from deadlocking. What if both parties of a negotiation are following your advice and 'never splitting the difference'? Doesn't that lead to deadlock? How do you move forward?
