I have a lot of similarities to you; 20+ years of Java, Senior Software Engineer, have a B.S. but not in CS; been thinking about getting and M.S. in AI/ML; would like to move into this area, specifically to get into Biotech, drug discovery at molecular level, places like Deep Cure and Deep Genomics, but figured I need an MS;

these guys doing the AMA seem more open-minded about degree or not, whether you have the skills, but I bet if you don't have a degree, you'll be weeded out before you can demonstrate the skills
