Has anyone ever seriously said marry me and I'll take you away from all this?

Please don't take this personally but I believe you and other designers are falling prey to confirmation bias. There is almost a solid wall of people here complaining about the open office concept and just about every one of your comments says people love open concept and those that don't just don't have the right design.
