I don't mean to make this a self-focused question, but I've been debating this for a while.

I'm a 1L right now and it seems like every one of my peers is 100% focused on OCI/salary. I'm a little put off because I didn't come to school with that in mind, but I fear being worn down into focusing just on the monetary return after the my naivety is destroyed.

How were you drawn to public service? How do you remain devoted to the your cause? And how tough is a typical day? (I ask because I've never been the most outgoing person and I feel like having trials so often would wear me down) Also, I am externing for a federal district judge this summer—anything I should keep in mind during my experience?

Thank you for doing what you do!

I have wanted to do some bike touring for some time now. I race triathlon and my bike fitness is really strong, but I'm incredibly hesitant to get out there and just do it.

I will have some time at the end of summer before school picks back up, but—how do I start? Any sites/guides you would recommend? I've never camped in my life, but I would love to do a self supported with some camping... Feasible?
