You should check out Cold Steel Sure Flight Throwers! They are 13" and made of 1055 carbon steel. Yes, they are oxidized black! They're also quite cheap too, I think you can get them for $23. I had my set of 12 for 2 years now, they are still working fine!

Do you use Cold Steel or Gil Hibben imitation throwers? Also, bigger knives are easier to throw... When you said you used movie replica knives is it the kunais from The Expendables? I use Cold Steel sure flight t-80 throwers.
