I'm trying to do a little genre blending using Westerns, and one thing I struggle with is language. That Western sound, word choice, etc... Any tips on that?

Thanks for replying! So far, I've just been devouring the genre and trying to absorb the language.

It's funny to me that you'll get what sound like sophisticated words to modern ears (19th century, after all) and then real folksy sort of stuff. So it's a tough thing.
