Were you outright abused as a foster child?

Growing up as a foster kid, I was abused worse than my bio mom abused me. Which was the whole reason I was taken away by CPS in the first place. As a 7-year old, I didn't understand how this could happen, it was literally a nightmare that never ended for 10+ years for me.

The thing that was the worst, was the fact that as a foster kid, I was immediately considered "damage goods", and therefore had no credibility. At least when I was a child, being a foster kid had it's own stigma attached.

I wasn't adopted, but my foster parents became my legal guardians. It was the worst thing ever because after I had graduated high school, I wasn't able to apply for grants for college. The financial aid I needed required proof of income from my legal guardians, and because we hated each other, they never were willing to sign the required paperwork. Which in reality was the shit-icing on the shit-cake.

Even as an adult, I still suffer from abandonment issues because my mother surrendered me to the state. I was very aware that I wasn't wanted.

What was the scenario of your parents losing you, or how did you end up in the foster care system to begin with?
